Mike Jackson Bio
Mike Jackson, retired electrical contractor, artist and woodcarver, is a North Carolina native residing in Wadesboro, NC with his wife, Brenda.
For many years, Mike has enjoyed oil painting but in recent years, he tried his hand at woodcarving. Mike began by carving walking sticks and wooden toothpick holders. As his interest in woodcarving as an art grew so did the quality of his work. Among the fine hand-carved, one-of-a-kind pieces he produces are ducks, figures of cowboys, civil war soldiers, golfers, Santas and Santa's helpers and much more.

Mike has won numerous ribbons and awards for his woodcarvings and caricatures. His most recent achievement was being recognized as one of only three woodcarvers by the Caricature Carvers of America at the 2005 Charlotte Showcase of Wood Carvers by Woodcraft.com. Mike was also runner-up at the national level for one of his Santa figurines at the WoodCraft store in Charlotte, NC.

Mike is collaborating with Danny Beachum of Granny Hollow Pottery and together they are producing unique pottery sculptures. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art that starts with a beautiful piece of pottery created and carefully made by Danny and embellished with an incredibly detailed sculpture by Mike.
Mike's woodcarvings and pottery sculptures are on display at the Arts Council gallery. They are available for sale exclusively at Fancy Crafts & Granny Hollow Pottery at 217 S. Greene Street in Wadesboro, NC. Phone 704-694-2625.
